Máquina da Preguiça®
O texto é uma máquina preguiçosa [Umberto Eco]
III Britpop junkie
[Notas para um perfil]
Sing along with the common people,
sing along and it might just get you through,
laugh along with the common people,
laugh along even though they're laughing at you,
and the stupid things that you do.
Pulp, Common People, Different Class.
Olá! Sou um Britpop junkie. E digo-o com orgulho. Sem rodeios. Ponham-se no meu lugar: The Divine Comedy, The Charlatans, Inspiral Carpets, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Stone Roses, Paul Weller, Radiohead… Com um único senão, os irmãos Gallagher: Oasis.
Um Take Away magnífico. Inesgotável. Auto-suficiente.
Percebo-o sempre que sinto algo do género Shaun Ryder Blues:
Yippee-ippee-ey-ey-ay-yey-yey
I had to crucify somebody today
[Kinky Afro - Happy Mondays]
Reconheço, imediatamente, os sintomas: Britpop hangover.
Basta-me ouvir Bobby Gillespie entoando Rocks [Primal Scream, Give Out But Don't Give Up] para me dar conta.
Ou Tim Booth confessando Born of Frustration [James, Seven].
Tenho espírito saxão. Não tenho dúvidas. Visto a Union Jack.
Cabelo à Ian Mcculloch. Com fases rapadas à Housemartins. Atitude Robert Smith.
Um inglês comum. Passeando no Soho. Arranjando Bootlegs em Notting Hill. Regurgitando Fish & chips. O gatilho mais leve para fazer valer a verdadeira Pop.
Que não hajam equívocos: o paraíso tem selecção feita por John Peel. Bach não conta.
Sou um Britpop junkie. Há anos arriscando a overdose. Décadas. Dazed and confused. Organismo saturado de acordes made in Great Britain. Harmonias envoltas em english smog. Feliz com a(os) New Order.
Vivo para o:
Hello Bristol Academy!
Ou Knebworth.
Tenho rendas em atraso em Madchaster. Com contratos assinados a sangue. Crédito para mais London Suede.
Sou um Britpop addict. Capaz do assalto a Buckingham. Apto para tomar a Torre de Londres.
Ando há anos disponível para hang the dj, hang the dj [Panic, The Smiths].
Sou um Britpop junkie. Estou consciente da minha situação. Mas não procuro a salvação. Não há degraus, nem passos a ter em consideração. Estou condenado. Eternamente. No future, Mr. Johnny Rotten.
Entre pints no pub, com Damon Albarn aprendi que Modern Life is Rubbish [Blur, 1993].
Com Ian Curtis que Love will tear us apart [Joy Division, 1979].
Só isso já é muito. Uma grande conta, está bom de ver.
O meu contributo?
Take my wisdom and make it yours.
Citando Shaun Ryder:
Hallelujah!
